Basic Info BioIm a chemist (I usually say "industrial chemist" to avoid being mistaken for a pharmacist) living in the hills near Perth with my wife and blue heeler (Bryn).
My current mad obsession is model rocketry... I have a bad habit of swapping hobbies every couple of years, but I have always been a movie nut.
What else, I play jazz trombone, love red wine and good single malt.
And I'm a coffee snob.
Everything else is subject to change without notice...
TEN THINGS I'VE DONE THAT YOU PROBABLY HAVEN'T
1. Sung "Waltzing Matilda" on stage in Moscow.
2. Played in the Orchestra the accompanied David Helfgott when he made his comeback.
3. Seen a Spitfire crash (or at least run of the runway into a swamp).
4. Had my name mentioned on video by Peter Jackson.
5. Been MISTAKEN for Peter Jackson
6. Operated the first ICP-MS to be installed in the southern hemisphere.
7. Been served Chicken Balti Pizza, with anchovies, by a Belgian, in Wales.
8. Been to see the Bolshoi Ballet...... AT THE BOLSHOI
9. Performed "Sweet Transvestite" in a silver lame dress and pink fishnets (for charity, promise!)
10. Drunk an entire minibar in a hotel room in Phuket (I was young and VERY stupid).
I also moonlight as a film reviewer at www.dvdbits.com Look for me there as "Al Day"
